クレイユ・エ・モントロー Creil-Montereau

Plat ovale ivoire Creil et montereau, fin 19ème - début 20ème siècle Terre de Fer

More details

It is a dignified oval dish typical of Creil et Montreau. It is heavy and has a thick texture. It contains stamps and numbering stamps used in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. There are fine cutlery scratches on the surface, showing traces of use for more than 100 years. As you collect ivory vessels, different colors create a beautiful rhythm.

The width is 28 cm, the inside is about 20 cm. An oval dish of this size is also useful at home. Assorted cheeses and arranged chocolates. You can also bring vegetable dishes to garnish and put them on the table.

Pottery with a lot of kaolin and feldspar (semi-ceramic semi-porcelain) is called Terre de fer. It was first produced in 1770 and mass-produced in the late 19th century. It was made to be whiter and more robust. This plate also says "Terre de fer".

There are a few spots on the surface. There is no noticeable damage such as chips or cracks. There is a scratch in one place, but it seems to be a scratch made during production because of the glaze. On the back side there is a slight unevenness of the glaze. Since it has been more than 100 years, there are other small scratches. Please purchase after understanding antiques.

This is the price of one plate. With backstamp.
